We're back!

The Disney trip was a success! Thanks for your prayers. We were able to pack an incredible amount of fun into the few days we were there. Here are some pictures:

My three favorite people beside that famous Castle.

Here's me and the oldest son fighting the evil emporer Zurg.

Buzz and his new pals.

The dragon is actually in the water and is made of Legos. It stands across from the Lego store at Downtown Disney, a shopping center on Disney property that sells all things Disney.

I thought the fireants in Georgia were bad, but they're nothing compared to these things they've got in Orlando.

And here we all are with the Mouse himself.

That's it for now. I may post more about our trip later. Right now I'm tired and just want some down time.

Peace.

Ultraman Rules!

Great stuff! I used to love Ultraman as a kid. This is still every bit as good as I remember.

Another reason we could really use some Star Trek technology NOW

I mean, where are the universal translators when you need them?

You people are a bunch of superstitious, backwards, ignorant rednecks and hicks.

Wait a minute. It seems I chose my words poorly. What I really meant was...

You fine folks obviously hold strong convictions and beliefs, a true testament to your fortitude in these trying times. In fact, I share many of those beliefs and convicitions. SO VOTE FOR ME!!!

Mispeaking and choosing words poorly seems to be all the rage these days. I'm not the most eloquent man myself, but even I can do better than these clowns. The only thing that amazes me more than politicians is the fact that we keep voting for them.

Pray for fun!

The wife and I are planning a family trip to DisneyWorld this coming weekend. We are staying in one of the Disney hotels on the 19th, 20th, and 21st. This will be the first time for the boys, and while the youngest probably won't remember much of it, the oldest definitely will. It's been over 20 years since I've been there and probably 15 since my wife last went.

And while we expect to have a blast, I believe satan is trying to steal this joy from us. My wife has not been feeling well at all today, so pray for her to be completely healed. And I was hoping to dodge nightshift this week, but it looks like I will be doing three nights of 12 hours each. The biggest trick there is having enough time to help prepare and to get my sleep turned around before we leave Saturday morning. Pray I will be efficient in my use of time and focused in what I need to do. And that we all will be supercharged, well-rested, and ready to go come Saturday morning.

We are going to have a glorious time. You will not stand in our way, devil. We are going to have fun, so get out of the way.

Beloved, be healed. Self, be focused and rested. Boys be agreeable and full of joy. I speak all these things into existence in Jesus's name.

Oh it's suppertime! It's suppertime!

It always cracks me up when my buddy Mike, over at http://wunderkraut.com/, blogs about food. So, in honor of Mike, I give you this:

Courtesy of 'the magical animal', I present to you ham steaks grilling in bacon grease--which I'm sure breaks some sort of Levitical law.

And now for the final product: ham, bacon, biscuit, omelet, hashbrowns, and milk!

Emeril got nothin' on me. ('scuse me now, I got to go take my Zocor.)

No greater Courage, No greater Love

Petty Officer Second Class (SEAL) Michael A. Monsoor will receive the Medal of Honor posthumously in a ceremony at the White House April 8, 2008. He will receive the award for his actions in Ar Ramadi, Iraq on Sept. 29, 2006. On that day, Monsoor was part of a sniper overwatch security position with three other SEALs and eight Iraqi Army (IA) soldiers. An insurgent closed in and threw a fragmentation grenade into the overwatch position. The grenade hit Monsoor in the chest before falling to the ground. Positioned next to the single exit, Monsoor was the only one who could have escaped harm. Instead, he dropped onto the grenade to shield the others from the blast. Monsoor died approximately 30 minutes later from wounds sustained from the blast. Because of Petty Officer Monsoor’s actions, he saved the lives of his 3 teammates and the IA soldiers. Monsoor also received the Silver Star for his actions during the same deployment in May 2006, when he exposed himself to heavy enemy fire to rescue and treat an injured teammate.

Okay Al-Quaida, Taliban, Hamas, etc. I challenge any of you to produce even one example of one of your so called 'Freedom Fighters' doing something like this for one of his fellow soldiers.
A striking juxtaposition, I think, that they equate courage with strapping on a bomb and killing innocents, while our men sacrifice their lives in order to save their brothers.
Jesus said it best:
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13 (KJV)

Frogs!

It just don't get any better than this. It rained the past few days and provided a prime opportunity for collecting amphibians. We picked up five toads and one Bullfrog. Could have filled a five gallon bucket, but I am not a man without mercy.

We defy Tonka, Hasbro, or any other toymaker to devise anything that can even come close to the fun inherent to the Bufo terrestris, aka Southern Toad. (Made by God as proof that He loves boys and wants them to be happy.)

That's what I'm talkin' about! Rana catesbiena, baby!
